Complicated Relationship Flicks

I've decided to get a head start on the weekend - I'm anxious to de stress, settle in and watch a few of my favorite movies. They're all about complicated relationships; somehow it's more entertaining to watch them unfold on tv and not in my fricking life. So I'm going to cocoon myself in for awhile along with chocolate, ice cream, and pie. But not before I leave you with my must-sees - they make me laugh, cry, sigh (no, it's not the most proud of female thing I do), curse and not surprisingly a few of them turn me on.

Love Me If You Dare

That sounds like my kind of weekend except I'd have to be drinking some wine too.

I love Vicky Christina Barcelona.

And chocolate.

And Scarlett Johanson.

How about some Annie Hall, Secretary, and Pee-Wee's Big Adventure on that list? Ok, maybe not Pee-Wee. Even though that was a very complicated relationship he had between him and his bike.

Lauren - You are so right about Secretary. I haven't dug this one out in awhile. It sports a great James Spader.

This is a love story...a dark and twisted love story by some accounts, but a love story nonetheless. This is the first movie I have seen that has hit the mainstream that has explored the true meaning behind an S&M relationship...

Oh no...don't start talking about Secretary.

I get all thrown out of whack.

Found you through SITS...

I've only seen one of those movies... When Harry Met Sally.

Have you ever seen Nina Takes a Lover? Mind-blowing. I saw the first half about a billion times before I ever made it through to the second half and when I finally did, I couldn't BELIEVE I'd never sat through the whole movie. The first half was deceptively sweet and formulaic, but then it just changes...

Totally, I LOVE Secretary because I think it's one of the most complex and realistic relationships ever in a movie. They are so fascinating to watch. Great character study.
